Average Tiling Cost In The UK
The price of installation relies mostly on the type of material involved, floor dimensions and degree of complexity in installation. For installation, £25 to £40 per m² is charged for the ceramic tiles, £80–£120 per m² installed for porcelain material, and from £80 to £120 per m² for natural stones or marble installations. And the tiles cost approximately between £120 and £220 per m² present in a space for a mediocre ceramic and an extravagant marble.
Labour will be £150–£200 per day or £35–£50 per m², depending on region and skill. Thus, tiling a small bathroom of 6 m² using mid-range porcelain tiles would cost between £500 and £800 in total, including material and labour. A 20 m² kitchen floor might cost anywhere from £1,200 to £2,000 based on the finish.
What Affects Your Tile Fitting Price?
Tile Type
Ceramic is the most affordable, simple to fit, and ideal for walls. Porcelain is a stronger type of material, which is better for the floors but is somewhat on the expensive side. Natural stones, such as marble or slate, provide a luxury finish, but, considering their price, they are very high-priced and require sealing.
Room Size & Design
The larger the space, the more expensive the total, although big jobs tend to come out less expensive per m². Plain layouts are quicker to fit, whereas patterned styles, mosaics, or herringbone layouts may cost 10%–20% extra in labour fees.
